Digital River pays $10 million for Fatfoogoo

Digital River Inc. said Wednesday it has paid $10 million to buy in-game and online commerce service provider Fatfoogoo.

Eden Prairie-based e-commerce firm Digital River (Nasdaq: DRIV) purchased the company to capitalize on the expanding sales of virtual goods in video and computer gaming, CEO Joel Ronning said.”

    I like DR's acquisition of Fatfoogoo, although I will admit, I had never heard of them before. In-game purchases and virtual goods are growing like crazy, and starting to get traction even outside of Facebook games. This is a natural entry point for DR to leverage its huge sales force and large roster of existing clients in games outside of Facebook. I think they'll be able to do a lot with Fatfoogoo. It seems like a very typical DR acquistition. They've done quite a few small deals (Small in the sense that with their market cap, doing $10 million deals is a drop in the bucket)
