ArcStone Technologies, a custom web design and software development firm in Minneapolis, has sold core product offering Wonderfile to Rochester, NY firm BlueTie — says an announcement initially made on September 14th.
Wonderfile is a cloud-based, file library storage and collaboration system with a usability emphasis on tagging, archiving and retrieving files on the go.
As an enterprise level provider of communication and collaboration solutions for small to mid-sized businesses, BlueTie currently reaches more than 250,000 SMB’s worldwide. The Wonderfile product will be distributed through BlueTie’s partners, including “a direct sales force, eCommerce sales, 650 resellers and distribution via dozens of ISPs worldwide,” according to their website.
“The channel was clamoring for a simple business collaboration tool, from a company that doesn’t compete against its own partners,” said Jeremy Hunter, BlueTie President.
Barely a chirp was heard from ArcStone after the BlueTie announcement, until the company published its own official news release on September 30th. On October 8th, ArcStone President and CEO David Carnes had this to share with Wonderfile customers:
“We’re excited to announce that Wonderfile has been purchased by BlueTie, a leading provider of hosted email, calendaring and collaboration systems with over 250,000 customers. Shortly you will begin to see new enhancements to Wonderfile, extended support hours and fresh integration possibilities. Expect future emails from Wonderfile and BlueTie announcing the upgrades as they become available the next few months.
If you are an ArcStone customer, your service and pricing will remain the same – ArcStone will continue as a value added reseller for Wonderfile and we will remain your primary point of contact.”
Specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
