TECHdotMN TV Season 2 Debut: Doug Berg – Minnesota’s $110m Startup Junkie

by The TECHdotMN Team

The experiment continues! TECHdotMN TV season 2 is near and our kickoff feature is an exclusive interview with Jobs2Web founder Doug Berg.

Founded in 2003, Jobs2Web (originally known as HotGigs) is a SaaS firm that helps enterprise customers recruit better in an ever-changing digital world.  With one round of VC funding, the venture consistently grew customers, revenues and employees over the years from Berg’s hometown & HQ in Minnetonka.

Last month, Jobs2Web was acquired by Success Factors for $110m cash, (~10x) marking Minnesota’s largest SaaS exit in recent times.   The company is sticking to its mission and roots by seeing things through the next major growth stage from Minnesota.

Doug Berg embodies rare entrepreneurial character.  Unknown to many is the fact that his previous startup,, raised $120m and employed 500 people before collapsing in the wake of the ’01 .com bubble.

“I took a good six months off…I needed to get my soul back…I don’t know how not do a startup… I’m a startup junkie…”

Like a true champion, Berg got up, went back to work, and he won. Tune in for 20 minutes of non-stop Minnesota tech entrepreneurship at its finest.
