Code Slingers Challenge seeks Minnesota’s top developers

Code Slingers ChallengeStraight out of the Wild West suburbs of Minneapolis, the Code Slingers Challenge is here again November 16-17 for local developers with the guts to put their skills to the test on a 24 hour showdown.

Self forming teams of 1-4 will have a brief window to absorb the TBA coding objective which is only revealed an hour before things get down and dirty on Friday the 16th.

The idea here is to ensure “all teams have a fair shot from the onset,” explains organizer Farhan Muhammad, CEO of Fusion Room, the primary sponsor.  24 hours later — $1,000 cash & bragging rights will go to the last team standing, that is, whoever makes the most progress towards feature completion using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CMS, etc.

Last years mobile themed event, which was centered around a Wine related app,  somehow ended in a tie between the ILM Mega Minds and Double Ataris. Muhammad notes the judges will be less forgiving this year to ensure that second place is actually the first loser.

Creative partner Shinebox will be supplying the specific parameters of the challenge, including creative guidance.  Registration is free and sponsors, volunteers and observers are welcome.

“It will be extremely exciting to see the top developers compete against each other to win the prize and the bragging rights,” says Muhammad.

Awesome. A wine related app has a shot.
