Digital River CEO Ronning steps down

“The waters at Minnetonka-based e-retailer Digital River are going to get a little choppier. CEO Joel Ronning announced Thursday, Nov. 1, that he has resigned from the company he founded in 1994.

Ronning, 55, helped Digital River grow from the idea of using the Internet to sell products during the early days of the Web into a company that now gets nearly $400 million in annual revenue. It runs the online stores for numerous software and consumer electronics companies, and its largest client is software giant Microsoft.”
