Anser Innovation raising $1.5m, hints at new product lines

Anser Innovation

Burnsville startup Anser Innovation has intentions of raising a $1.5m equity funding round, with $225k received, according to an SEC disclosure recently filed.

Anser is the parent company of the PetChatz hardware and software platform, a solution for the owners of household pets — dogs and cats — to remotely connect and interact with their companions using a mobile device.

AnserInnovation1The venture has executed methodically, as they first came on the scene back in August 2011, with recognition, money, partnerships, advisors, manufacturing, distribution, to follow.

Co founder and CEO Lisa Lavin says the funding will accelerate the launch of the PetChatz product release, which is currently available for pre-order ($350) and expects to start shipping in fall 2013.

AnserInnovation2She mentioned that Anser Innovation was already in negotiations with potential partners for the development of their second product platform, the Anser Medication Management System, a medication therapy management system for caregivers and their dependents that operates in the same fashion.

“Anser Innovation will continue to develop new interaction technologies where remote connection is impossible. Future targets include the dependent child market,” Lavin added.
