MobileRealtyApps closes $1m first round, goes international

mobilerealtyappsMinneapolis startup MobileRealtyApps has closed on its first round of equity investment, raising $1m+ from Brightstone VC and other angels to fuel local growth and international reach.

Repeat tech entrepreneur Aaron Kardell founded the company in the spring of 2010, providing digital tools for real estate agents and consumers to locate properties quickly and easily using mobile devices. Things have continued to evolve from there.

“We’re in the business of powering agents on the go,” he says, “At the core is home search, but for agents, it’s about lead generation, listing management and CRM.”

MobileRealtyApps’ domestic customer base now spans from Seattle to Long Island, including local brand names such as Edina Realty, Northstar MLS and RE/MAX results.   Last week they inked their international deal, a multiple listing service based in British Columbia, Canada.

MobileRealtyApps has 11 full time employees, 28 with part time contractors, and holds office on the first floor of the Grain Exchange building in downtown.

“We’re using the capital to expand our product development, to add personnel for support, and also for sales and marketing.  Looking ahead, there’s plenty of opportunity for us to help agents increase their productivity through new products. We want to power more and more of the mobile software that savvy real estate agents utilize.”
