Minneapolis startup Field Nation is expanding internationally, crossing the pond this summer to capture a share of the European market.
They are initially launching into the major metro areas of the following countries and regions: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom
Field Nation’s technology platform connects businesses with workers, tapping into the ‘talent on demand’ trends. Companies use Field Nation’s self-service web portal to find, manage and pay contractors for any specific job – whether that be 1099 or W2, contract, temporary or full time employees.
The number of independent freelancers and contract professionals across all industries in Europe has increased by 82% since the year 2000, according to one study.
“We are extremely excited to bring Field Nation into Europe. The challenge of coordinating multiple projects with skilled professionals across locations is as great in Europe as it is anywhere,” founder and CEO Mynul Khan says of the milestone.
Field Nation started in St. Cloud circa 2008 by Khan who saw an opportunity to leverage the web as a platform for sourcing service technicians in the computer industry. Less than five years later, he has grown well beyond computer techs to 40,000 various service providers in the network. Since reaching tens of millions in revenues and expanding to Canada, he relocated to the HQ Minneapolis last year and now employs over 50.
