Maple Grove startup raises $1.3m equity for on demand fitness tech

Fitness on RequestMaple Grove-based startup Fitness on Request is raising $1.5m, with $1.3m secured, according to a recent SEC disclosure filing.

“The company’s Hybrid Group eXercise Platform (HGXP) combines prerecorded fitness classes with program-management software, producing a comprehensive group exercise platform.  The HGXP class/management package are a kiosk that’s hooked up to a high-def- inition audiovisual system featuring a screen up to 150” in size,” explains an article from Club Business International published in December.

They’ve expanded to offer more than 50 different classes across eight fitness genres and experienced a 450% annualized growth rate, the article states.

“We’ll double our revenues and install-base by the end of this year, and, by the end of 2013, we’ll be in well over 1,000 facilities,” said CEO David Kraai.
