Life Jacket helps parents save baby memories

Life Jacket LogoBusy parents now have a better way to capture the moments, memories, and milestones of their young children.

Life Jacket for iPad is a digital baby book targeted at new parents trying to balance work, daycare, doctor’s appointments, and everything else associated with having young children, all while trying to capture the memories as they happen.

Parents can grab photos from a number of sources including their iPad photo library, Facebook galleries, and Dropbox. They can also collaborate with other family members and close friends who share in those captured moments.

The app was built by Bill Springer, Mike Navarro, and Brady Anderson after Bill found himself with two incomplete baby books for his two young and “growing up too fast” children.

“Just as a book jacket protects its contents, grabs your attention with photos and teases with a brief story summary, so will Life Jacket, but with your memories, photos and stories of life,” said Bill.

Currently all memories are stored within a digital book in the app, but the team is working on a partnership with a third party printer so that users can also order a physical copy of their completed book. If all goes well, they have plans to expand beyond baby books into events like weddings, family vacations, and school graduations. “In the end,” said Bill, “our ultimate goal is to be the app iPad users turn to when life’s special moments occur. We want our app to make a difference in people’s lives.”
