Three Minnesota mobile app finalists in Target’s health care competition


Target Simplicity ChallengeTarget announced today eight finalists for their $25k Simplicity Challenge health care competition targeting prevention & management.

“At Target, we are always striving to simplify the lives of our guests, and now, with the Target Simplicity Challenge, we want to apply that same approach to healthcare. We are searching for great ideas that simplify healthcare and help individuals and families improve their health and well-being…together, with the winners, we can transform these ideas into innovations that make life easier and healthcare simpler.”

Judges have selected the finalists and the public will have their say on the winners; half of the finalist ideas stem from Minnesota, three of which involve mobile applications:

The Simplicity Challenge as part of Target Health marks an ongoing effort on behalf of the $40b local retailer to tap into markets and minds outside the corporate firewall. Over the summer, Target opened an ‘innovation center’ in San Francisco, followed by a $75k ‘mobile app challenge’ through the Target Retail Accelerator.
