“Fantasy life simulation visual novel” Ruler by Default launched on Kickstarter this week with intentions of crowdfunding $6k for the creation of a new role playing game

“Ruler by Default is a fantasy life simulation with dating elements, played from the perspective of a 21 year old male who is inadvertently summoned to another dimension and subsequently crowned successor to an evil overlord after an unexpected twist of events.”

The team consists of artists Ilhwa Gloria Kim and Ace Walker, with Xiaolu Wang on film and David Richardson as the developer. Kim is a student at University of Minnesota studying art and psychology, Richardson a recent Computer Science graduate from the University of Minnesota and professional Java programmer.

So far, 65 backers have pledged ~$1,600 of the target amount with 32 days remaining.
