What problem does this solve?

Brightler will bring focus groups to the digital age.

Brands and agencies can tap into our audience to get feedback on their digital messages prior to publishing them on social and/or web channels. As a result, brands will understand more about what people want to hear about so they can better pair content people of like interests.

Brightler will help brands and agencies increase the efficiency of digital marketing spend.  In exchange for helping marketers be more efficient, our reviewer community will receive cash rewards for every question they answer.

Our beta product just launched and a full release will follow in the fall.

What is the specific technology used?

Brightler is built on MySQL, Railo, JavaScript (JQuery & Knockout), HTML5 and is hosted on Rackspace. We’re leveraging social data and the history of how people respond on our own platform to drive audience segmentation.

How will you scale?

The digital media advertising marketplace is a $50 billion a year market that grows at a pace of over 20% per year. A percentage of that spend is currently wasted on releasing the same material to various audiences to find what works best. Brightler plans to replace those “trial and error” processes by giving marketers better insights prior to publishing their digital ad content. We’ll reach scale by offering our reviewers greater chances to earn over time through brand and agency partnerships.

What is your revenue model?

Brightler plans to charge brands and agencies on a monthly basis depending on the volume of research they need.

What is your greatest strength?

Our team has complimentary skills and has worked with brands/agencies to implement software solutions throughout our careers.

What is your biggest weakness?

We’re largely bootstrapped, which limits our bandwidth. We’re scrappy, full time and have a plan – so we think we’ll overcome that quickly.

What is one resource you could use that would take this to the next level?

The more people who sign up to be reviewers, the better. Every reviewer has varied interests and backgrounds, which creates appeal for the marketers seeking their input.
