“Vilicus Ventures, a venture capital firm targeting health care technology startups, has moved its headquarters to Minneapolis as it seeks to raise a $50 million fund.
The firm has an unusual history. It launched about three years ago, when Jon Otterstatter, co-founder, president and CEO of Minneapolis-based Preventis, bought two funds from VC giant Norwest Equity Partners. Otterstatter formed a firm to manage the funds, choosing the name vilicus because it’s the Latin word for steward.”
