Startup Weekend Twin Cities 6 brought together approximately 100 participants last weekend at the U of M Carlson School of Management to make, do and create.
Fifteen unique teams formed over the 54 hour hackathon and here’s what they came up with in the end:
A Cut Above – a mobile app for independent hair stylists and colorists that empowers a more personalized and consistent experience for their clients.
Teamo – fixes a broken feedback loop in teams.
Hidrate – A smart water bottle that communicates with your phone that reminds you to drink water and tracks your hydration.
SwappyTool– We are putting tools in people’s hands, saving resources and money, and building community.
Cash Cow Farmer – Be a better farmer, know your annual break even cost and know when to sell.
Chore Boss – We are a website service that connects community members who have odd jobs with local laborers.
WeeMentor – Closing the gender gap through micro mentorship
Our City – provides greater transparency into the governing process of the Minneapolis City Council and increases public engagement through more open access to policy makers.
Sentio/Cairo Confessions –
is aiming to become the first online mental health care provider in the MENA region
School Explorer – a web based platform that allows parents to to find the ‘perfect’ fit for their children, by providing them with information to scatter schools within their zip code (or location they want).
Side Door – Fast pass for restaurants.
Alfred – Alfred brings the DIY community to the concept of the ‘Internet of Everything.’
Clove – Beautiful, failure-proof recipes with one-touch, same day ingredient ordering.
Make My Travel – We are building marketplace where Travel-designers from all over the world make unique trips for travel lovers.
Haystack – Get off the third page of hopeless google results and onto the site you need. Research more effectively by learning the words that domain experts use to describe their solutions.
