What problem does this solve?

There are $165Billion of food waste each year. 56% of this from the commercial sector. Food waste = Edible, safe, uneaten food… Better known as “excess food inventory.” GRUMBL allows businesses to monetize on food waste while dually offering people insane deals.

What is the specific technology or combination of technologies is used? Is there any IP?

We are developing a mobile application.

What is the size/scope of your market and how will you scale?

$92.4 Billion of commercial food waste in the US alone, each year. We are planning to start in the West/mid-western regions at grocery stores and partner with some of the largest food distributors.

What is your revenue model?

The app is free for consumers. Because we are literally capturing Billions of dollars in lost revenue, we have a service rate that is charged for business owners to post to GRUMBL

What is your greatest strength?

We are innovating technology into a an industry that’s painfully conventional. We are allowing businesses to have added revenue streams and NEW foot traffic. We are a for good for profit, “discovery app.” — People are starting to capture food waste but no one has yet successfully tapped into how to monetize on it.We’re fortunate to have our app recognized by billionaire founder of AOL, Steve Case and were invited to present at his Rise of the Rest tour.

What is your biggest weakness?

Illustrating the real impact of GRUMBL; enlightening people for the severity of this issue with regards to food waste.

What is one resource you could use that would take this to the next level?

The leading users and businesses to take part in being subjects to the launch. We’ll offer them captured revenue and accessibility to quality food at low cost; we just need their insight on how we can improve the experience of the app.
