In the wake of news last week surrounding the resignment of Code42’s cofounder and CEO Matthew Dornquast — it turns out that the company’s President and COO has also left.
Brian Bell was appointed in August of 2012 to lead global expansion of sales, service and operations. His years of prior experience in the enterprise storage industry, including a lead up to the Dell/Compellent deal for $940m, were well aligned.
Bell held the role at Code42 for nearly three years and it is unknown when exactly that ceased, although his LinkedIn profile would indicate April.
A spokesperson cites “personal reasons” as the adieu:
“In the two-and-a-half years Brian Bell worked with us, he made a tremendous impact for Code42…He made his presence felt throughout all levels of Code42 on both a personal and professional level, and will be missed. His leaving was an amicable parting of ways; Brian left us for personal reasons–and was looking forward to spending more time with his family here in the Twin Cities. He will always be an integral part of the Code42 family.”
Given the primary goal of finding a CEO for the company, is sounds like this position is not intended to be filled anytime soon.
Is Bell’s departure related to Dornquast’s or a just coincidence in timing?
