Minnesota Startup Hidrate Clears $627k In Crowdfunding On Kickstarter

Minnesota tech startup Hidrate has received $627k in pledges from 8,015 backers as of close yesterday.

The campaign launched on June 1st to a very receptive audience considering their $35k minimum goal was exceeded under 24 hours — a trajectory reminiscent of notable local wins like Zivix, SmartThings and Spark (before they split).

Teammates Nadya Nguyen, Alex Feeken, Alex Hambrock, Cole Iverson come from the University of Minnesota and concocted their smart water bottle + mobile app MVP during Twin Cities Startup Weekend 6.

Then they took the venture to Techstars in Kansas City and, well, now they have ~10,000 units pre-sold.
