What is the specific technology or combination of technologies is used? Is there any IP?
We use parse for our iOS mobile app and we use MEAN stack for our web portal. We use a proprietary algorithm to do our social ranking and instant booking feature for our service providers.
What is the size/scope of your market and how will you scale?
The home service market is huge. It’s estimated to be at least a 400 billion market. Just the plumbing service industry alone is $97 billion. Currently, the home service industry is fragmented and low-tech. ProTriever focuses on creating a mobile solution that connects consumers with vetted service providers. The provided services are also listed with up-front pricing information.
Our strategy of scaling is to leverage the social media and word-of-mouth in effect. We are working on a feature to let you see your friend’s favorite service providers.
What is your revenue model?
We will charge a percentage of the platform fee for a closed transaction. Also, professionals can pay a subscription fee to use add-on features in the backend that will allow companies with employees to better manage their job requests.
What is your greatest strength?
The greatest strength of our company is the founding team and advisors for the company. Our team has vast experience in technology start-up and consumer market. All of us are frustrated with the current home service experience and we are on a mission to change it.
What is your biggest weakness?
The competition in the home service market is getting hotter, and some major players are eying the market. Currently, most of the competitions are in the coast, and many people ignore the midwest. That’s why we choose to start out from Minneapolis.
What is one resource you could use that would take this to the next level?
We are looking for a strategic home service company who we can partner with to test out our backend service management module.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
We are actively looking for trusted home service professionals (house cleaning, carpet cleaning, gutter cleaning, in-home computer & network support, snow removal, sprinkler blow out, furnace tune-up & repair, house inspection). If you know a home service company that you trust and like, you can recommend them by filling out the form. We will do the vetting process and add them to our platform if they pass our vetting process.
