Locally launched Kickstarter campaign FLUID has surpassed the minimum threshold of $95k needed to close on their hardware + software water meter product.
With ~$96k pledged from ~500 backers so far, two weeks remain on pace to double their target by the October 14th final deadline.
The product works by sending pulses between two transducers clamped around a pipe to measure the water flow; data is communicated wirelessly to a web/mobile app to establish paramenters for usage.
The purpose is to catch leaks, identify any erratic behavior, and overall increase our consciousness around consumption habits.
FLUID joins a growing list of successful Minnesota IoT/hardware wins on Kickstarter, most recently exemplified by Hidrate and dating back to SmartThings.
