Thank You Assemble!
What does Assemble do?
Assemble is Minneapolis’ newest co-working space that offers beautiful, private, glass-walled, short-term offices ideally situated in the best neighborhoods. Designed to be public when you want to be, private when you need to be, Assemble gives businesses everything they need to do the best work: independence, convenience, and community. With free-to-use amenities and a tight knit community of driven professionals, Assemble shows that an office can be much more than just work—it’s about fostering a sense of community.
When did Assemble start, by who and why?
Assemble shared office co-founder Phil Domenico has been active in real estate for more than 20 years. Phil’s career spans commercial and residential real estate nationwide and also includes a Bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and an MBA in Finance from DePaul University.
Starting in 1995 Phil successfully co-founded Synergy-Partners with the help of the incubator, ICNC, located in Chicago’s West Loop. He went on in 2014 to co-found Assemble based on the idea that office space can be equal parts productive, modern, inspiring, and collaborative. Utilizing his vast experience in real estate and construction, Assemble takes Phil’s career-long philosophy of exceptional design, quality work, and customer service and brings it into the shared office world.
What is something unique about Assemble?
Most co-working and shared office spaces are a large, cafeteria-style space where you park your laptop at a new spot every day. At Assemble, growing companies actually have their very own private office space with a lock and door, giving them the ability to set up shop. What’s more, the Minneapolis Assemble location is actually a part of a larger national network as we currently have office locations in the Gold Coast and West Loop neighborhoods of Chicago.
Several more Assemble locations are anticipated to become available this year, including sites in Atlanta, Austin, Columbus, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Milwaukee, Nashville, Philadelphia and Raleigh. What makes this unique is that our members have complimentary access to all Assemble locations, anytime, anywhere. For entrepreneurs and growing businesses, it’s a huge asset to have access to a space you can call your own when traveling (that’s not a hotel room).
Why do you sponsor TECHdotMN?
We like what TECHdotMN offers to its community network – whether it’s through the daily newsletter, events or even jobs – TECHdotMN has built a strong community of businesses, tech-lovers, entrepreneurs, and industry pros. This approach to building a stronger network is what resonates with Assemble.
How could Minnesota’s tech industry improve from your perspective?
At Assemble, we’re all about creating a community. We would love to see even more connectivity between all industries. With the proliferation of technology and tech-related services throughout today’s world, there continues to be opportunities for companies of all types and sizes to be more collaborative and connected to one another. Let’s bring together those who are the best at what they do, with others who can benefit from that product or service to create a community of shared knowledge, support and best practices.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The Assemble community is already growing quickly. Seven member companies have already claimed spots within our new shared office space in Minneapolis, including GO Intellectual Capital, Flipboard, Fresh Expertise, Praxis Capital, Ranstrom-Berg Wealth Management, Maintenance Design Group, TrainSmart and Walden University. We’d love for you to drop by and see why Assemble offers a different shared office experience.
