The Minnesota Cup has moved one step closer to awarding a share of their $402k grand prize.

At a High Tech Division reception held tonight in the offices of Lurie, LLP, the competing tech startups and their mentors gathered along with fellow tech enthusiasts to learn which semifinalists the judges would be advancing to the finals.

Over the last few months, the competing startups in each of the Cup’s many divisions have been steadily winnowed, resulting in the current ten semifinalists from the High Tech division that were announced this June. Of those semifinalists, the following three companies will be representing the High Tech Division in the Finals on September 22nd:

Vugo – rideshare advertising service that allows drivers for companies like Uber to earn additional revenue by promoting local businesses that are in close proximity to the riders end location.

Token of Trust -identity verification for the peer to peer market that gives buyers and sellers additional protection against fraud.

Sezzle – a payment processing system that saves the merchant money, while rewarding the end consumer through cashback incentives.
