The second sold out edition of MinneAnalytics’ financial services and retail analytics conference — FARCON — is coming to Carlson School of Management next Wednesday, August 24th.
Scheduled for 9:30 to 11:15 am in Room 1-147, the Startup Showcase is hosted by MinneAnalytics board member Graeme Thickins and will feature seven-minute pitches from six startups focused in retail and financial services, and one in IoT, all listed below:
AddStructure, a member of the TechStars Target 2016 class, uses AI-powered search and discovery to help consumers find the products they’re looking for on any channel: organic, desktop, mobile, app, voice, messengers, intelligent chat bot. It helps sellers improve their search, capture more organic traffic, and structure user-generated content.
GrocerKey, based in Madison WI and St. Paul MN, helps grocery and convenience stores leverage their brand through end-to-end eCommerce technology and access to over 50 years of eCommerce grocery operations experience.
GroveStreams has developed an IoT analytics platform that is a cutting-edge cloud-based service providing decision-making capabilities to many users and devices as data arrives from many sources. It was designed to be easy-to- use across multiple platforms by everyone from corporate app developers to product managers to sensor engineers to electronic enthusiasts. The platform is easily scalable from one device to one million devices.
Live.Give.Save. (web site in development) is the first all-in- one mobile app to empower and reward consumers to spend wisely, increase giving, and boost retirement savings with one-touch simplicity. A patent-pending, three-way payment process leverages existing behaviors and technology around spending to effortlessly and measurably transform financial futures through micro-self- taxing called “SpendVesting.”
Raincard is a MN Cup 2016 semifinalist. Ever seen a gift card from Pampers or Coca-Cola? The answer is no – until now. Raincard finally makes brand- or item-level gift cards possible. Its patented technology adds a proprietary transaction layer over brick-and- mortar retail transactions to make it happen – all without point-of- sale integration.
Sezzle, a MN Cup 2016 finalist, is a payment platform that makes it easy for merchants to reduce costs and improve customer loyalty by utilizing bank-to- bank transfer of money between consumers and businesses. Sezzle calls it electronic debit and it’s less than half the cost of other payment options, with zero sacrifice for the consumer. It rewards consumers with 1% cash back.
