Over two non-stop days, a number of Minnesota tech entrepreneurs are commingling with accredited investors at the RAIN Maker’s Conference in Bloomington, Minnesota.

MixMobi chosen as mobile coupon partner for Amdocs

MixMobi, a technology platform that allows retailers to easily create mobile coupons and offers, announced this week a partnership with Amdocs, a $3 billion global telecommunications services provider.

Amdocs, which operates in 60 countries, develops and implements business- and operational-support systems surrounding “customer experience” touch points (billing, CRM, ordering, digital content delivery, etc.) for global companies.  MixMobi will be the mobile coupon partner for a new mobile developers’ “hub” being created by Amdocs.  The Hub will reportedly allow developers to write their applications once and deploy them on over 700 devices, as well as access in-app carrier monetization, meaning that application developers will have the ability to sell products through their apps but the billing will be passed on to the customer via the customer’s mobile phone bill.

Updated: Six local startups slated to demo at 2010 Minnesota Developers Conference

2010 Minnesota Developers ConferenceOn Wednesday, September 29th, around 300 developers from Minnesota and beyond will rally at the Sheraton Hotel in Bloomington for the fifth annual Minnesota Developers Conference (MDC).

Described as “the largest independent software and interactive developers conference in the Midwest,” the event is known for its emphasis on Microsoft technologies.  From Silverlight to Smart Phone, a total of twenty unique tracks led by a diverse mix of speakers and a keynote from author and creator of CSLA.NET Rockford Lhotka are planned for this years gathering.
