About This Event:

The well-being of our employees, students, clients, instructors, and guests is our number one priority here at General Assembly. We are monitoring COVID-19 very carefully and are adjusting delivery of our programs.

Due to the current health concerns, all GA short-form events, workshops & bootcamps will temporarily be held online – including this one.

Registered participants will be notified 24 hours in advance of this program with information on how to log in to the Zoom Meeting Room and other tools you’ll need for the session. Registration for this offering will close 2 hours prior to the session start in order to allow all students ample opportunity to have the technology enabled.

Are you using Slack, but feel like you need a quick crash course on how to use this powerful platform? This workshop will bridge the gap between your current usage of Slack and how experts use it, especially in today’s WFH environment. Students should come to class with some familiarity with Slack or have used Slack in a workplace setting (although not required). The hope is to immediately incorporate certain examples from the workshop into your Slack work environment. Specifically, we’ll go over ways to categorize & find information, minimize a “noisy” Slack, and keep engagement high as office work becomes more remote.

About the Speaker:

Tom Pae
Director of Global Sales Strategy & Operations,
SailPoint

As a sales ops professional, Tom has a keen eye for efficiency using data and process improvements. It started early in his career as an Army intelligence officer, looking at battlefield data to help predict and forecast enemy activity. Now, he uses his skills to predict sales performance and streamline Go-To-Market revenue generating processes. Hey, it’s not as sexy, but it pays the bills. Tom has spent a lot of his time honing his craft at some of the fastest growing and most well recognized tech companies in the world such as LinkedIn, Slack, and Handshake. It’s at Slack where he discovered the beauty of learning how to communicate with others in a more simple, pleasant and productive medium. He’s now ready to share the joys of Slack to the rest of the world and help others learn about the power behind this tool.
