Description

Join our Software Engineering team as a Backend Software Engineer ready to apply your experience on a team creating and evolving our SaaS software products.  At Skykit, backend engineers are an integral part of our product and engineering team with responsibility for the design, development, and operation of our platform services. You will be working on the overall development of various micro-services for one or more of our products that comprise the Skykit platform.

We have a team of the brightest developers and designers working exclusively on Google Cloud Platform. Skykit’s cloud-based content and device platform enables organizations to seamlessly display content reaching target audiences at the right place and time, and recognizing savings in both time and cost.

Our software engineering team members are the innovators building and refining the Skykit content and device management platform into a scalable offering that is unlike anything that exists today. We are a diverse team of problem solvers that are working hand-in-hand with Skykit product management to define the future.

Please note: We will only be interviewing candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to Minnesota.

Your Responsibilities 

  • Develop and design modern and high quality micro-services to support the Skykit Product Platform in a team environment
  • Develop and integrate with external web service APIs
  • Build high-quality code with efficiency and maintainability in mind
  • Develop using a test-driven development approach

What you’ll Bring to the Team:

  • At least 2 years of software development experience working in a team environment.
  • 2-4 years of work experience with languages such as Python, Go, Java, Node. Extensive Python experience a plus
  • Experience with leveraging libraries, APIs, design patterns, and end-to-end web application programming
  • Experience developing and integrating with RESTful and/or GraphQL web service APIs
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, with Test Driven Development and Continuous Delivery
  • A desire and willingness to be challenged and learn about new technologies
  • A passion for building high-quality code with efficiency and maintainability in mind.
  • A "customer first" mentality, focused on crafting an exceptional experience for our product users
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical solutions clearly to a group
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field
  • Interests and experiences outside of software engineering that recharge your batteries
