Description

Company Overview:

Ever want to work for a startup funded by Mark Cuban? A venture-backed startup that is making an actual impact on the environment & forever changing the landscape of eCommerce? One that is remote-first & full of awesome, friendly people?

Welcome to Bold Metrics.

We’re using Machine Learning to change the landscape of shopping for clothing online. By using easy, known inputs from a customer, we can predict over 50 individual body measurements, putting the customer into the right garment from the first try.

Who Should Apply?

You are excited about getting in at the ground floor of an emerging and fast-growing startup. You wake up everyday excited to write code. You can work independently, and don’t need a lot of hand-holding. You are the kind of person who wants to learn from your peers, and they'll want to learn from you.

You’re comfortable working with sales, accounts, other engineers, and everyone in-between. At Bold Metrics, if someone has a great idea from another part of the organization, we listen. If you have some great marketing ideas, we’re gonna listen. You’re important to us, so speak up!

Lastly, and most importantly, you’re humble and are willing to learn something new. We believe that every single person has something to learn from every other person they encounter, and we don’t want you to miss out.

You have a positive outlook. Our team is small, so if something is wrong, you have the power to do something about it! If you tend to have a negative outlook, this job isn’t for you.

You are based in the US.

You have software experience. We’ll be open to entry level candidates in the near future but right now we need candidates who can hit the ground running.

If you’d like to work with people that fit the above description, you belong here.

What will your day-to-day look like?

Grab your coffee, and then a quick engineering stand up at 10:30AM. After that, expect 2-3 meetings a week and good time blocks to focus on code.

We aren’t here to micromanage you-- we want to enable you to get your work done, and we aren’t worried that you’re on Slack 9-5 everyday. If you work better in the evenings, do it!

Requirements:

You know the intricacies of supervised machine learning, and are comfortable with both traditional modeling as well as neural networks.

Your tool chest spans prototyping in Jupyter to deploying in Docker and SageMaker.

You are curious about data, you can easily extract insights, and can prepare answers before our customers even ask.

You’re excited to build automated model training infrastructure.

Who We Are:

Built on the passion of our CEO and her family’s trade as master tailors, we’re using machine learning to predict people’s body measurements to find the right fit the first time and reduce returns. We’re a data-first company, and we use our data to prove hypotheses, support new innovations, and tell a story.

Our clients are changing the way they do clothing retail and you can be a part of the mechanisms to change how online shopping works, today.

We are remote-first & remote-friendly. If you’re near co-workers, it would be great if you met with them!

We’re interested in candidates in the USA.

We have daily standups, two mandatory weekly meetings, and occasionally the on-site (expenses paid).

What We Offer:

We’re a young company, so while we don’t offer a 401k, we do offer some great benefits:

Competitive salary

Health insurance (medical, dental, vision)

Flexible paid vacation policy

Equity

Application Process:

What’s next, you ask?

Once you’ve submitted your application and you’ve heard back from us, congratulations! We’re interested. Step one complete.

Next, you’ll undergo a technical project so you can show off your skills. We need to make sure you’re a good fit technically, and want to know where you’re at. We’re not going to ask you Big O questions, only problems associated with our current challenges.

Last, you’ll meet other team members to see if everyone gets along. If you’ve made it this far, well done!
