Assistant Director, IS Finance & Budget
The Information Services department has 105 staff with a $32 million budget and provides technology services to all operating units of the Metropolitan Council, including hardware and software support for a variety of business services which are delivered throughout the Twin Cities region. The Council enterprise technology infrastructure requires a combination of on premise and vendor support arrangements through public and private networks as well as multiple datacenters which host up dozens of business applications and cloud services.
The Assistant Director, IS Finance & Budget serves as a Senior Leader in the Department of Information Services directing the development and administration of the IS technology budget. The position integrates the IS financial program with the Council's financial program by working with management at all levels and in all departments to develop, document, implement and understand technology financial operations; develops multiple views of the IS budget in order to effectively communicate the value of IS services; ensures proper financial controls are in place to preserve assets and comply with requirements; and collaborates closely with Met Council financial officers.
- B.A. in Information Technology, Finance Administration, or closely related.
- Seven years of experience in information technology administration.
- Three (3) years of experience in the management of staff; and budget development, financial analysis, and finance administration
