Job Description

Atmosphere is seeking to hire a firmware developer to expand the library of sensors, radios, and microcontroller/processor devices supported within the Atmosphere Studio IDE. The firmware developer role will report to the CTO.

  • 3+ years’ of embedded programming experience
  • Working knowledge of C for embedded applications
  • Familiarity with ARM microcontrollers and related vendor SDKs
  • Familiarity with JavaScript or Node.js a plus
  • Familiarity with agile development processes
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent
  • U.S. citizen


  • Learn about a wide range of wireless IoT development kits and integrate their sensing, processing, and connectivity components into the Atmosphere Studio IDE
  • Work with a distributed engineering team on both hardware and firmware issues to build, test and release production code using the agile software methodology
  • Learn and grasp the technical requirements of a range of global customers and industry leading silicon vendors
  • Analyze technical problems and creatively solve them through designing, debugging, and troubleshooting
