Junior Full-Stack Developer
School Newspapers Online (SNO), the leading provider of website development, hosting, and support services to scholastic and collegiate journalism programs, is seeking a full-time Junior Full-Stack Developer.
We’re looking for someone who is a continual learner and excited about exploring new technologies. Some of the technologies we use on a daily basis include Linux, WHM/cPanel, LiteSpeed, MySQL, WordPress, PHP, and jQuery.
We want someone who can navigate their way around the Linux command line and write bash scripts, someone who can write MySQL queries, someone who can troubleshoot and fix a website no matter how badly a client breaks it, someone who can connect systems with APIs, and someone who can write a WordPress plugin.
At SNO, we enjoy working with individuals who are smart, self-motivated, detailed, organized, kind, and occasionally funny. Experience in scholastic journalism, though not required, will be considered a plus. Also not required is good taste in music, movies, and books, but we'll probably like you better if you have it. We offer a relaxed, comfortable, and non-corporate work environment with daily table tennis world championships and all the Diet Coke and Pop-Tarts you can reasonably consume in an 8 hour work day.
SNO’s office is located near the Mall of America in Bloomington just one block from the 28th Avenue stop on the METRO Blue Line. This job comes with 10 paid holidays, 15 paid flex days, health insurance, and retirement. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
If you’re the type of person who can take the seemingly impossible, break it down into parts, and make it possible, please apply by sending an email to hr(at)snosites.com that includes a PDF version of your resume as well as a cover letter that describes your relevant experience and your position on the Oxford comma. If you don’t follow these directions, we’ll assume you don’t pay attention to details.
