Job Title: Future Cities Track Lead

Reports To: Managing Director

Pay: $2,500 for the project

Project Length: July-September

Overview

The Future Cities Track Lead is responsible for all coordination and execution of the Future Cities Track at Twin Cities Startup Week. The Track Lead takes direction from the Executive Director and Managing Director and collaborates with track sponsors, partners, volunteers, event hosts, and participants to create an amazing experience for all track stakeholders and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs in Minnesota.

We work quickly and efficiently to execute on our team goals and don’t let perfection get in the way of completion. We always do the right thing for our founders, partners, and community, and take time to enjoy the ride with the people we get to work with. 

BETA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is “helping Minnesota tech founders succeed.” To fulfill this mission, BETA runs a series of founder-first programs and Twin Cities Startup Week. Both properties have experienced dramatic growth over the past five years, and now require the next generation of team members to ensure their continued success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the scheduling of all events within the TCSW track.
  • Manage communication with track event hosts, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and participants.
  • Act as the primary liaison between track sponsors, event hosts, and the BETA team.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to track event hosts.
  • Coordinate necessary track volunteers, moderators, and MCs. 
  • Guide track event hosts and volunteers around how to best prepare for the event. 
  • Coordinates activities with the various service contractors for track events.
  • Keep the BETA team informed of track status. 
  • Attend weekly TCSW planning meetings.

Secondary Responsibilities: 

  • Record feedback from session organizers and sponsors
  • Share recommendations on how to improve the year following

  • Ability to manage large scope projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong sense of composition and design detail.

Experience - Required:

  • Experience in project or event management.
  • Experience in event planning and event logistics.
  • Proven attention to detail through prior work or life experience.
  • Coordinating various stakeholders to achieve a goal.

Experience - Nice to have:

  • Strong interest in the discourse around technology, startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital.
