About the Professional Services Team

Ovative’s Capability Development team is broken into multiple product teams to support our Marketing Analytics Platform and our Data Platform, among other emerging products. However, we understand that not everything fits into the world of product. The Professional Services branch of the Capability Development team is optimized for speed and agility in response to our most impactful, complex client opportunities. In addition to speed, this team will serve as a proving ground for ideas and innovation that will fuel future product ideas. This team leverages many skillsets across data engineering, data science, and data visualization, and is managed with an Agile methodology.

About This Role

In this role you will be serving as a Technical Project Manager, a key intersection point across our Development and Business teams. This role will be instrumental in building Ovative’s capacity for faster, more efficient client problem solving through the Professional Services team. We are rapidly increasing the breadth of development capabilities we can offer, and want you to assist in

Role Responsibilities

  • Project Management & Communication/Facilitation
    • Develop detailed project schedules for larger initiatives by considering both developer and stakeholder input
    • Leverage project schedules to keep development teams and internal partners on track and aware of major risks, issues, or dependencies
    • Aid efforts to drive technical issues to resolution through effective facilitation across teams and structured troubleshooting  
    • Understand stakeholder awareness needs, identifying what individuals need to know, when, and to what level of detail
    • Ensure all partners are kept up to date on tasks and projects through well crafted, concise, and explicit communication – whether through emails, decks, meetings, or other forums
    • Ensure adequate business and technical documentation is captured for tasks, capabilities, client-specific context, etc.
  • Task & Capacity Management
    • Manage intake, prioritization, and assignment of new development requests.
    • Collaborate closely with other Technical Project Managers, developers, and stakeholders to drive alignment on development priorities.
    • Manage developer work queues, ensuring tasks stay on track through effective risk mitigation and dependency tracking. Ensure successful handoffs through task progression, whether from development team to development team or from development team to internal partners and vice versa.
    • Assist with efforts to understand, track, and adjust how capacity is utilized based on changes in demand, resourcing, etc.
    • Aid efforts to drive technical issues to resolution through effective facilitation across teams and structured troubleshooting
  • Product / Project Process Improvements
    • Assist with strategic efforts to identify opportunities and improve processes related to the above responsibilities, including but not limited to:
      • Technical and business level documentation
      • Release planning and management
      • Capacity planning
      • Team organization

Role Requirements

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing and managing complex schedules within a project management tool (Wrike, Jira, Asana, etc.)
  • methodologies
  • History of creative problem solving and willingness to experiment, fail, and recover
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for project management, process improvement, and organization
  • Timeline driven and detail oriented
  • Loves interacting with clients and understands technical account management
  • Mind for KPI’s and measuring engagement, satisfaction and other success metrics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Has worked in a technical product environment (preferably Agile)
  • Experience working with data science and engineering teams
  • Experience in marketing, especially digital marketing
  • Proven ability to listen across teams, prioritize accordingly, and communicate results empathetically
  • Passionate about translating detailed, technical information into high-level, non-technical summary for non-technical roles (and vice versa)
  • Proactive in client outreach to address customer needs while also reactively managing problems and sticky situations with empathy

Pay Transparency

At Ovative, we offer a transparent view into three core components of your total compensation package: Base Salary, Annual Bonus, and Benefits. The salary range for this position below is inclusive of an annual bonus. Actual offers are made with consideration for relevant experience and anticipated impact. Additional benefits information is provided below.

For our Technical Project Manager positions, our compensation ranges from $62,000 to $93,000, which is inclusive of a 15% bonus.
