Ovative/Group is an innovation advisory firm representing venture-backed and early stage companies as their bridge to strategy and innovation executives at mass retailers, media companies, agencies and other enterprises.
The company’s partners have been executives at Target, Best Buy, Cargill Ventures, and the global agency holding companies.
O/G’s offices are at the Open Book, 1011 Wasington Ave. S., Minneapolis, which is the “largest literary arts center in the country”.
Ovative/Group has 3,000 sq. ft. on three levels of converted warehouse space. The basement level, at 1,500 sq. ft., is reserved for helping to incubate new companies and ideas, with an open floorplan, plus a private meeting room and kitchen. Additionally, there are other meeting and presentation room options throughout the Open Book center including a space with accomodations for 200 people. O/G’s first incubated company is Cloveapp.com, a desktop and Web social media app similar to Tweetdeck and Seesmic, but with an SDK for developers and agencies to customize it. O/G partner Kim Garretson said he is very open to flexible arrangements for free or low-cost use of the space by individuals, co-workers, and new companies.

Both CoCo & The 3rd Place were recently featured in a great article by Dan Haugen on Bring Me The News Minnesota.
