Duluth Startup GeaCom Raising Another $2.2m


PhrazerMultilingual interpretation and emergency telecommunication device maker Geacom has reportedly secured $871k of a 2.2m equity round, according to a document recently filed with the SEC.

The product is a hand held device which promises to find a patients native language and culture (in 15 seconds or less), discover immediate medical issues, gather vitals and connect to medical history through an EMR system. The application of Phrazer is intended for emergency medical and life-threatening situations, including but not limited to:  the emergency room, urgent care facilities or field use (rapid response/disaster scenarios).

The Duluth startup has been making headlines for the better part of a year, building momentum from last years Minnesota Cup High Tech division win. If this round of financing can be secured, the firm will have raised over $3m to date; official launch is expected this summer.
