CrashPlan releases mobile app suite

CrashPlan, the Minnesota-based online-backup provider, appears to be faring well against stiff competition from the likes of Mozy, Carbonite and iDrive. Until now, though, it lacked a key feature available from rival services: Apps for phones and tablets.

This is important because it permits phone and tablet users to browse the online backups of their computer files and selectively download such files to their mobile devices.  Today, CrashPlan remedies that deficiency. It is releasing apps for iOS and Android devices.”
