For St. Paul schools, Dell an early favorite for district tech plan

“Months before November’s levy referendum, St. Paul Public Schools had a frontrunner for a multimillion-dollar project key to the district’s technology plan on the ballot.

Three months before the election, the district had already dismissed the runner-up for the project and enlisted Texas-based Dell to help explain it to voters, newly released documents show.

It wasn’t until two months after the vote, though, that the public, the teachers union and school board members learned Dell was the district’s pick.”
