Hutchinson Technology is cutting 100 jobs

Hutchinson Technology Inc. plans to cut 100 jobs and close a Twin Cities plant despite anticipated growth in demand for its products.

The Hutchinson, Minn.-based maker of hard drive suspension assemblies said it will eliminate about 40 jobs in Minnesota and 60 jobs in Eau Claire, Wis., by the end of July.

Hutchinson will also close its stamping facility in Plymouth by Sept. 28. The company is moving that operation and and “most” of the plant’s positions to Hutchinson, spokeswoman Connie Pautz said.”
