Agosto forays into products with Skykit CSG for Google Enterprise

Agosto-Logo_220x161Minneapolis Google for Enterprise consulting and app development firm Agosto has announced the release of their first flagship product, SkyKit Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG).

Skykit was developed by Agosto to address both the demand for clients growing data footprint and the reallocation of their primary data storage to Google’s Cloud Platform — providing a managed service complete with migration (hardware), monitoring (software), and support.

“We saw a gap for customers in the larger terabyte range who asked for a better solution, so we built the product with them in mind,” says CEO Aric Bandy. That approach has resulted in a “tremendous amount of interest,” and already yielded paying customers.

“SkyKit CSG plugs into a network like any other drive. A fully encrypted copy of a company’s data is stored in the cloud, while an intelligent cache assures that frequently used data is quickly accessible locally. The on-demand cloud data storage is safe, secure and readily accessible. SkyKit CSG includes support for disaster recovery if on-site data is lost or compromised.”

Founded in 2001, Agosto is headquartered downtown Minneapolis with a sister office in Toronto, Canada.

The company jumped into Google Apps circa 2007 and subsequently rose to Google Enterprise Global Partner of the Year for Cloud Platform for accomplishments in building services using Google Compute Engine.   In 2013, they were listed on Inc. 500/5000 and currently employ ~50.

“We’re dealing with some sizable Fortune 50 customers,” Bandy said while declining to disclose revenues, adding that “Part of our vision is to bring more products to market.”
