Inside The Startup Venture Loft North Loop Coworking Space
First born as the “Healthcare.MN loft”, a gathering place for the blossoming Healthcare.MN, SVL evolved through demand for more room and founder Pete Kane’s desire to broaden the brand.
The new spot for startups has approximately 40 paying members (individuals, teams, groups) so far, according to Kane. Four of SVL’s anchor startup tenants include: Kidizen, RetraceHealth, Divvy and Evolve – all Minnesota tech startups with traction.
“Our only focus is startups,” he says. “We’re looking for members that are investable with have high growth potential – those are our two requirements,” he explains, acknowledging that many are currently solorepenuers with such aspirations.
The scrappy space features 40 desks, 13 breakout offices and 2 larger conference rooms. Monthly pricing currently runs $200 for a single floating space desk, $325 for a fixed individual desk, and $1,000 for a small team startup (3-5); special event rentals can accommodate 150-200 people.
“My only concern is thinking about what to do once we outgrow this place,” Kane says.
