[Updated 1/5 10:40am – Blue Cross Blue Shield was in fact a strategic investor, having “contributed a significant share to the raise”.  Other investors include Angel Daren Cotter, TreeHouse Health & Matchstick Ventures.]

Minneapolis virtual health startup Learn to Live has raised over $1 million in equity based on an SEC filing yesterday.

Founded in 2013 by Dale Cook and Dr. Russ Morfitt, Learn to Live provides online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (“CBT”) programs for Stress, Social Anxiety and Depression. Originally offering their programs directly to consumers, Learn to Live has turned to serving organizations as well.

The venture has really accelerated lately, notably — teaming with TreeHouse Health, previously raising angel capital, and winning the Life Science Division of this years Minnesota Cup competition.

Now guiding Learn To Live are directors Kyle Rolfing (RedBrick Health founder) and John Uribe (VP of Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN) — indicating a real possibibility of strategic investment from Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN.
