Hiring Trends From Inside Minnesota’s PE-Backed Tech Ventures

peopleEarlier this month, we used LinkedIn’s new data visualization tools to capture hiring trends at some of Minnesota’s VC-backed tech ventures .  Now, let’s look inside some of Minnesota’s Private Equity-backed firms to see what headcount is like over the past 24 months.

Note that this does not include those which have moved operations/headquarters, that the company must have at least one job posted on LinkedIn, and that the the data set is limited by the number of employees accurately listed on LinkedIn.

SiteImprove: colocated between Denmark and Minneapolis, SiteImprove took in $55m equity financing from Summit Partners in December.

JAMF Software: Headquartered in Minneapolis with a major outpost in Eau Claire, WI, JAMF landed $30 million from Summit Partners in December 2013.

HelpSystems: Founded in 1982, Eden-Prairie based HelpSystems was purchased from Summit by HIG Capital last August for an undisclosed amount.

Ability Network: Founded in 2000 and headquartered in downtown Minneapolis, ABILITY Network sold a majority stake to Summit Partners for $550m in April 2014.

Atomic Learning: Based in Little Falls, Atomic Learning was acquired by Boathouse and Renovus in April 2012.
