Earlier this year, LinkedIn made some changes to the type of employment data made publicly available for certain companies.
Looking back 24 months we can now see the total current headcount, the average tenure and the change in headcount over that period of time. In order to view this data, the company has to have a minimum number of overall employees on LinkedIn and at least one job inside LinkedIn’s database.
The data is only as good as the source — so while this is not 100% accurate — it’s probably the most wholistic sampling given the fact that people are generally keeping up on their own virtual resumes and this is close to real time.
We initially explored a set of locals that were among the top tier in terms of overall venture capitalization: Code42, RedBrick Health, SportNgin, LeadPages, Conservis, Zipnosis.
Followed by a short list local tech companies that had received private equity investments/buyouts, including: JAMF Software, SiteImprove, HelpSystems, Ability Network and Atomic Learning.
