“TreeHouse Health, an innovation center that invests in emerging healthcare companies to help accelerate their growth, has selected Accenture to provide guidance and insights to its growing roster of digital health startups.”
“Accenture brings tremendous healthcare experience, insights and reach to TreeHouse Health,” said J.D. Blank, managing director at TreeHouse Health. “We are confident that this effort will help advance the mission of TreeHouse Health and the innovative companies we work with.”
Accenture will assign some of its healthcare consultants to the TreeHouse Health facility in downtown Minneapolis to help TreeHouse Health evaluate new portfolio companies for future viability and advise and engage with these and other emerging digital health companies.
“This effort will provide an environment for our health clients to advance their innovation agenda with connections to a broader ecosystem of digital health startups,” said Brian Kalis, managing director of digital health at Accenture. “Our forecast estimates that start-up funding for digital healthcare, such as wearables and virtual care, will reach $6.5 billion by the end of next year. This growth continues to be fueled by open innovation across a broad spectrum of stakeholders with the same shared goal of advancing healthcare.”
Accenture is the third anchor tenant to join TreeHouse Health; Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and Hennepin County Medical Center joined as anchor tenants over the past two years.
In addition to the three anchor tenants, TreeHouse Health currently has 12 portfolio companies and partnerships with a network of service providers. In addition to receiving funding, expertise and access to industry leaders, TreeHouse Health portfolio companies also have the opportunity to reside in the TreeHouse Health innovation center alongside other leading emerging healthcare companies.
