fluidLocal IoT startup Fluid Labs is raising $867k with $115k committed according to this fresh SEC disclosure.

Fluid combines hardware with mobile software to measure residential water flow by clamping a smart device onto the home piping system.

The goal is to measure water flow, guage usage, detect leaks, and ultimately save money by conserving water. In October 2015, Fluid closed on a $116k via Kickstarter from 595 backers.  Fluid CEO Josh Becerra says the team is currently working through the manufacturing process with anticipations of shipping in Q1 2017.

He added that thousands of additional pre-orders have been placed directly on Fluid’s site since then.
