Kidizen Raises $3.2m VC Round

Kidizen, the marketplace for used kids apparel and clothing, has raised $3.2m in venture capital according CEO Dug Nichols.

Origin Ventures from Chicago led the round, and was joined by Royal Street Ventures (SLC/KC), Corigin Ventures (NY), Mergelane, Sofia Fund (MN), and Gopher Angels (MN).

Nichols says, that despite very healthy organic user growth — 100 percent year-over-year — this round will be use to fan the flames.  He plans to hire 10-15 more employees this year, which will necessitate a move up and out from CoCo Northeast into a more dedicated space.  Laura Brady at Royal Street and Brent Hill from Origin will be joining the Kidizen board.

Kidizen has reached a total $5.1m in backing since Feb 2014, and has five employees at this time.
