Bright Health Buys Spyder Trap

Bright Health, the Minnesota-based insurtech venture with $240 million in funding behind, it has acquired nearby digital marketing agency Spyder Trap.

As part of the undisclosed deal, Spyder Trap’s founder and CEO Mike Rynchek has joined Bright Health as CTO, with about 30 of the agencies employees also onboarding:

Spyder Trap has a history of servicing the healthcare industry since Rynchek formed it in 2008 and will be exclusive with Bright Health from now on.  It’s the first known acquisition for Bright Health, which was founded by industry veterans Tom Valdivia, Kyle Rolfing, and Bob Sheehy just last year to take on the big, broken market that is health insurance in America.
