What is the name of the company and/or product?
Who is on the team?
What distinct problem does this solve for who and how does this create value for them?
There is a big pain in the sports industry when it comes to brands evaluating their sports sponsorships. Brands spend hundreds of millions of dollars on these sponsorships, yet still have a hard time understanding their audience and ROI.
Tempo Sports Intelligence is a sports sponsorship and technology agency that develops TempoCheck proprietary sponsorship evaluation software that saves a lot of time and money.
For example, if Dairy Queen was interesting in the St. Louis market, TempoCheck could help them understand the landscape, where to put their marketing spend, how much, and what type of return they are receiving.
This is global — from leagues, to teams, events, to athletes and entertainers.
How did you come up with the idea / what was your motivation for starting?
I have a background in sports, everything from collegiate level experience to professional sales, marketing, and advertising in the industry between the NBA and NFL. I was able to get a clear understanding of the gaps and needs, while also building my network. I know firsthand how much time, money and effort it typically takes to evaluate a campaign the traditional way because that’s part of what I’ve done before.
What is the full launch/release date planned?
We’re in the final stages of developing an MVP and are beta testing that with brands right now. Our plan to bring this to market in Q4 2017.
What is the specific technology or combination of technologies is used?
Microsoft BI is used for the algorithms.
Who is the customer and what is your revenue model?
Corporate 1,000 brands and their agencies active in the sports industry. SaaS subscription based with multiple tiers.
What is the size/scope of your market and how will you scale?
It’s a $60 billion dollar global industry and $24 billion of that is spent in North America. On the evaluation side, that cost typically ranges from between 2 – 5% of the campaign spend.
What is your greatest strength?
The ability to evaluate sports sponsorships like no other, as well as my relationships within the industry.
What is your biggest weakness?
I am a first time entrepreneur without a technology background.
What is one resource you could use that would take this to the next level?
Finalizing the TempoCheck MVP BETA
Is there anything else you would like to add?
