phData Picks Up $2.5m VC To Hadoop All The Things

Minneapolis’ phData has closed a fresh round of $2.5m venture capital per SEC disclosure.

phData was founded by brothers Brock Noland and Mac Noland in 2014 to focus exclusively on Hadoop’s ‘big data’ technology. Both are former Thomson Reuters employees who broke out on their own to create the firm for delivering managed services targeting the Fortune 500.

When we profiled phData in early 2017 they were targeting running $3m ARR with around 20 enterprise customers and targeting $6m in annual revenue by end of the year; we’ve reached out for any updates on revenues, employees, and customers. They must be doing something right if investment capital is finding and funding them.

Arthur Ventures Partner Ryan Kruizinga is listed on the disclosure as a director, suggesting the firm was partially or wholly involved in the round.
