Kipsu Hits 50 Employees And Plans To Move This Month


Growing Minnesota tech startup Kipsu has signed a new lease in Minneapolis to accommodate for consistent growth in headcount.

Kipsu CEO Chris Smith says that the guest engagement software specialists outgrew their footprint within the Highlight Center where they have been for the past 2.5 years.

“When we moved in to Highlight we were only 10 people, but we’ve since 10x’d that,” he says. “Our growth in revenue and staff is in a direct response from the market to the problem we are solving.”

As a result, the company will be moving at the end of this month to the Butler North Building at 510 1st Avenue where they are starting at 8,000 square feet with options on 2-3x that amount more space.

Kipsu has tripled revenue over the past 24 months to over $5m in annual contract value from some 1500 customers across the U.S. andΒ  27 countries.Β  Locally recognized brand names like the Mall of America, Metro Transit, and Hilton Minneapolis use Kipsu to more effectively engage with their guests.

With only $1.4m in capital raised to date, Smith projects that Kipsu will end the year between 70-80 employees, broken into three main departments of sales, engineering, and customer success.
