Born from Twin Cities Startup Weekend 6 in 2014, the company’s Spark product is a smart water bottle that “makes sure that you’re hydrated all day long.”
Led by Cofounder and CEO Nadya Nguyen, Hidrate was accepted into the Techstars + Sprint mobile health accelerator in 2015.
Following that milestone, they went on to score over $600k on Kickstarter in July, 2015, and has also previously raised an estimated ~$800k in traditional backing. Now on v2.o, Hidrate Spark tracks water intake, glows to remind to drink, and syncs via Bluetooth to hydration app, Fitbit, and Apple watch.
While Nguyen since relocated herself to Boulder, Colorado, Hidrate maintains it’s headquarters in Minneapolis where, according to Linkedin, about five of the overall 16 employees are based.
“We want to keep this low key for now,” Nguyen says.
